Located in the heart of the capital, Friendship Park covers about 46 hectares and includes an artificial lake, musical fountains, jogging tracks, botanical areas, restaurants and event spaces. The park was developed as part of the Beautifying Sheger initiative and was inaugurated in September 2020.
Beyond generating revenue, the park has created employment and business opportunities while attracting families, tourists and visitors to the capital. The Prime Minister presented Friendship Park as an example of how public green spaces can go beyond recreation and become productive, self-sustaining economic assets.
