The inaugural African Logistics and Communication Symposium (ALCS 2026) convenes top military commanders to bolster operational readiness and cross-border security.
Addis Ababa,(AMECO) — Senior military commanders, defense ministers, and international security partners assembled in the Ethiopian capital on Monday for the opening of the African Logistics and Communication Symposium (ALCS 2026), aiming to overhaul cross-border defense coordination and operational readiness across the continent.
The landmark conference brings together representatives from dozens of African nations, US military leadership, and key defense industry partners at a time when rapid response capabilities and secure communication networks are increasingly vital to regional stability and humanitarian operations.
High-level alliance on defence readiness
Addressing delegates during the opening session, Ethiopia’s Minister of Defence, Aisha Mohammed, alongside Lieutenant General Abdurahman Esmail, Director General of Logistics for the Ethiopian National Defence Force (ENDF), underscored that robust supply chains and secure communications are essential to continental peacebuilding.
Co-hosted alongside US Africa Command (AFRICOM), the symposium highlights deepening security cooperation between African forces and international partners. Key keynote speakers at the inaugural session include:

Over the coming days, delegates will explore new technological solutions and establish framework agreements designed to streamline rapid-deployment capabilities for future joint peacekeeping and disaster-relief operations.
