Addis Ababab (AMECO)— The nationwide consultative process is making steady, structured progress as stakeholders refine key discussion points through a multi-layered, participatory framework aimed at building national consensus.
The process builds upon an extensive foundation where agenda ideas—originally gathered from 400 micro-groups of 10 members each, and 80 groups of 50 members each—were compiled by 16 rapporteur teams consisting of 25 members each, and subsequently submitted to 16 strategic groups comprising 250 members each.
Upon reviewing these compiled documents, the 250-member strategic groups identified gaps, noting certain issues that were omitted or insufficiently elaborated, and successfully directed revisions to refine the records.
In yesterday’s session of the national consultation assembly, the Panel of Experts delivered comprehensive briefings to 8 agenda groups (each organized with 500 members). These briefings addressed conceptual frameworks, ambiguous points, and polarized viewpoints that surfaced during recent consultative phases, thereby offering constructive insights to enrich the rapporteur documents.
Following these scientific explanations and expert briefings delivered from yesterday afternoon through midday today, the 25-member rapporteur teams responsible for compiling the strategic group agendas have spent their time further enriching and strengthening the synthesized documents.
This newly refined compilation is scheduled to be presented this afternoon to the 16 strategic groups (each with 250 members) for the next phase of deliberation.
