Addis Ababa (AMECO)- Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos received U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia earlier today.

The two sides discussed ways of further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United States, including expanding trade, investment and commercial ties between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on regional peace and security issues of mutual interest.

It is recalled that Ethiopia and the United States held a bilateral structured dialogue in Washington, D.C., on May 11, 2026, focusing on three key areas: economic prosperity, trade and investment; defense and security cooperation; and the promotion of regional peace and stability.
