Addis Ababa (AMECO)— Regional authorities in Amhara have pledged targeted support to unblock stalled factory construction and streamline operations across North Shewa Zone, as local manufacturers commit to operating at full capacity to boost import substitution and generate foreign currency.
The Amhara region chief administrator, Arega Kebede, alongside senior regional and zonal officials, inspected operational manufacturing facilities and active construction sites across Debre Berhan and Bulga town administrations yesterday.
The industrial plants featured in the inspection rely on domestic raw materials to produce goods designed to replace imports while supplying export markets to earn foreign exchange. Investors at the sites commended the support provided by the regional government and confirmed that projects previously delayed by various operational challenges would be finalized to enable full-scale output.
The regional chief urged managers of delayed construction projects to accelerate completion timelines and called on existing operational plants to maximize their output. He affirmed the regional government’s commitment to providing all necessary administrative and logistical assistance required to resolve production hurdles.
In addition to industrial operations, the delegation inspected ongoing construction of public service infrastructure across Debre Berhan town administration.
