Bahir Dar, June 18, 2023 (AMECO) – Residents of West Telemt district and Maytbery town in the North Gondar zone of Amhara region organized an orderly demonstration demanding that the government officially confirm their identity claim.
During the peaceful march, they stated that the issue of the Telemt Amhara’s identity is a question for all Ethiopians who value justice.
The residents, who noted that TPLF had gained forceful control of the area since 1992, stressed that the area had been liberated from the tyrannical rule.
They have asked the government to respond to their identity question so that the peace and development of their area can continue.
