Bahir Dar, June 11, 2023 (AMECO) A team from Tigray regional state met with the administration of Amhara regional state in Bahirdar.
The two has conferred on maintaining peace and improving people-to-people ties.
Getachew Reda, the Interim Administration Leader of the Tigray Region, stated on the occasion that while there are disagreements, they are minor in comparison to the two brotherly people of Amhara and Tigray.
“There will be agendas of violence and chaos, but if we are sincere about the people, we have no better option than peace,” Getachew added.
Amhara regional state President Dr. Yilkal Kefale stated on his part stated that the people of Amhara are willing to settle the disputes peacefully.
People-to-people interactions will be restored and transportation and business operations will begin, according to Dr. Yilkal.
In his message, Dr. Yilkal invited religious leaders, elders, and especially peopel living in the border between Amhara and Tigray to contribute to the relationship that political leaders had already begun.
