Artist Ejigayehu Shibabaw (Gigi) has received an honorary doctorate from Injibara University.
Bahir Dar, July 20, 2023 (AMECO) Injibara University has awarded an honorary doctorate to artist Ejigayehu Shibabaw (Gigi).
Gigi is a multi-talented artist, a singer, poet, and songwriter. Gigi’s family receives the honorary award during the yearly student graduation ceremony. She is conferred an Honorary Doctorate for her contributions to the promotion of Ethiopian culture and music, as well as the language and culture of the ‘Awi’ people.
