Marking the 20th anniversary of the Brics alliance, participating leaders emphasized plans to develop a more organized, equitable, and inclusive framework for international collaboration in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Detailing how proactive system-building has enabled Ethiopia to withstand major challenges, Abiy pointed to key domestic initiatives that have served as structural buffers. Chief among these was Ethiopia&#8217;s transition from wheat import dependency to complete domestic wheat self-sufficiency, alongside the establishment of local pharmaceutical and medical supply manufacturing integrated into national preventative health policy.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Abiy also highlighted Ethiopia&#8217;s digital transformation efforts and the construction of the Medemer Artificial Intelligence University, designed to address the growing research and innovation demands of the African continent. He expressed Ethiopia\u2019s readiness to deepen practical partnerships with Brics member nations across these technology and development sectors.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">On the sidelines of the summit, Abiy held bilateral talks with heads of state from Brics member and partner countries.
