{"id":2805,"date":"2026-09-10T10:26:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T10:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ameco.et\/english\/?p=2805"},"modified":"2026-09-10T10:26:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T10:26:13","slug":"amhara-region-expands-digital-civil-service-and-one-stop-hubs-to-overhaul-public-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ameco.et\/english\/amhara-region-expands-digital-civil-service-and-one-stop-hubs-to-overhaul-public-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Amhara Region expands digital civil service and one-stop hubs to overhaul public administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Addis Ababa (AMECO) &#8211; <strong>The Amhara regional government has pledged to accelerate digital public service reforms and expand one-stop administrative centres to resolve long-standing service bottlenecks and boost local livelihoods.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The commitment was announced during events marking Pagume 5 \u2014 designated across the region as &#8220;The Day of Tomorrow&#8221; (&#8220;\u12e8\u1290\u1308\u12cd \u1240\u1295&#8221;) \u2014 organized jointly by the regional bureaus of civil service, job creation, agriculture, innovation and technology, and the disaster risk management commission.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Highlighting practical administrative solutions implemented over the past year, Banchiamlak Gebre Mariam, head of the Amhara Civil Service and Human Resource Development Bureau, said the rollout of the government-backed &#8220;Mesob One-Stop Service&#8221; model had significantly reduced public bureaucracy and improved service delivery.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">To reinforce oversight and institutional efficiency, authorities have digitized over 96% of personnel records for regional government officials and civil servants. In the coming fiscal year, regional authorities plan to scale up the Mesob one-stop framework across additional municipalities to address good governance challenges directly.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">The administrative reforms feed into broader national and regional strategies, including the &#8220;Digital Amhara 2030&#8221; initiative, the Digital Civil Service program, and the &#8220;Ethio Coders&#8221; technical training scheme.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">The Pagume 5 events \u2014 which included community meal-sharing for low-income residents, policy panel discussions, and technology exhibitions \u2014 formed part of broader national commemorations held under the banner of &#8220;Ethiopia\u2019s Resurgence&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">Pagume, the 13th month in the Ethiopian calendar, consists of five or six transitional days bridging the outgoing and incoming years.
