According to official figures, the initiative has registered nearly 50 million citizens, delivered over 160 million identity verification services, and served as a foundational pillar for expanding financial inclusion across the nation.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Classifying digital identity alongside physical utilities, Temesgen emphasised that digital ID represents strategic national infrastructure vital to Ethiopia&#8217;s long-term competitiveness\u2014on par with roads, electricity, and telecommunications.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Under the government&#8217;s broader <i data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"31\">Digital Ethiopia 2030<\/i> strategy, the new enterprise is intended to position the country as a leader in Africa&#8217;s digital transition by sharing technical expertise, capacity, and operational models across the region and the wider continent.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Addressing public implementation, Temesgen noted that the success of the digital transformation will be measured by public adoption and improvements to citizens&#8217; daily lives rather than technical metrics alone.
