PM Abiy Ahmed meets with Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin on sidelines of Russia-Africa summit
Bahir Dar, July 26, 2023 (AMECO) The meeting between PM Abiy Ahmed and Vladimir Putin opens a series of contacts between the Russian leader and the heads of delegations to the forum and the Russia-Africa summit.
The two sides met in St. Petersburg at the Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna.
The Russian president is expected to hold separate meetings with each of the African leaders arriving in St. Petersburg.
PM Abiy Ahmed formerly met President Putin during the first Russia-Africa summit in Sochi in 2019.
According to TASS NEWS AGENCY the second Russia-Africa Summit and Economic Forum is scheduled to be held in St. Petersburg on July 27-28. The event will be held under the motto “For Peace, Security and Development”.
