Menz Guassa Community lodge
Bahir Dar, June 29, 2023 (AMECO) – The Guassa Community Conservation Area which is found in Amhara regional states is one of the oldest known common property resource management in Sub-Saharan Africa.
It has been the focus of an indigenous natural resource management institution system for over 400 years. It is a home to numerous endemic birds and wildlife species, including the iconic Ethiopian wolf and the Ethiopian gelada.
The lodge, designed and built by the local community has several bedrooms on the second story as well as a separate sitting room with kitchen and log fire, education and information center and a separate annex with bathrooms and a shower.
