Foreign investors pledge continued support for Green Legacy
Bahir Dar, July 19 2023 (AMECO) – Foreign Investors have vowed to extend unreserved support towards Green Legacy Initiative in a bid to create better future for the posterity.
Foreign Investors approached by The Ethiopian Herald said that: “Ethiopians are setting a very good example for future generations. We are ready to contribute something for this country mainly in Green Legacy. We do hope all the nearby countries to apply this to see sustainable development in Africa.”
ZTE- Ethiopia General Manager Chris Ye said that taking part in the Green Legacy Initiative is a special event that made him happy as he has contributed his share in the endeavor of greening the country.
“I came back from Nairobi at 4:00 AM on Monday to participate in the Ethiopia’s Campaign of planting 500 million seedlings in 12 hours. We hope the neighboring countries and others will scale up Ethiopia’s experiences in their context.”
ZTE- Ethiopia is providing latest technologies for Ethiopians. Besides this, it wants to contribute something else in education, green legacy initiative and others. “Along with the staffers of Ethio telecom, we planted 300 seedlings. The Initiative is building a country, I am very happy and I feel proud to attend this event for the first time because as I contribute something for this country.
In China, there is similar experience in initiating national campaigns to plant seedlings. China and Ethiopia have the same target and vision; that is to green their nations and create better future for this generation and the ones to come. Now, in China, we use solar, wind and other energy, he added.
WODA Metal and Steel Company CEO, Steven Cui said that: “We have been investing in this country over six years. We are committed not only for industrial development, but also these kinds of campaign. It helps us to rethinking this kind of activities.”
“China carries out this kind of tree planting campaign every year and so each country has to do the same. For the green energy, we are investing in all these kinds of the projects for environmental protection.”
In all investments, WODA Metal and Steel Company applies the guarantee of producing equipment of zero pollution on air, land and water. For instance, right now, the company is producing electrical car with charging station using the hydro power. It is focusing on this kind of investment to support the green energy, he noted.
